A major irrigation upgrade at Carnoustie Golf Links has been successfully completed, marking the conclusion of the third and final phase of a multi-year project across the renowned venue.
Phase 3 of the works, carried out on the Burnside Course, commenced on 1 November 2025 and was officially commissioned and signed off last week by Adrian Mortram. This milestone follows the successful delivery of earlier phases on the Championship Course and Buddon Course, both completed in previous years by MJ Abbott.
The comprehensive upgrade saw the installation of a state-of-the-art Rain Bird IC System, integrated with CirrusPRO control technology. The system now provides irrigation coverage across greens, tees, fairways, approaches, surrounds, and walkways, ensuring optimal course conditions year-round.
Despite a challenging start to the year due to adverse weather conditions, the project team maintained momentum and delivered the works on schedule. The successful completion of Phase 3 represents a significant enhancement to the Burnside Course and the wider Carnoustie facility.
Following this achievement, the Turf Irrigation Services team will now move on to their next project at Winterfield Golf Club, continuing their work in delivering high-quality irrigation solutions across leading golf venues.
